Region’s insertion and Impact
When the walking path between Alcoutim and Cape Saint Vincent is installed,
we will be providing the Region with an important infrastructure that includes and reinforces the trans-european network of walking paths, contributing to
attract more walkers to this region. Its
structure and connection with the already existing walking paths
or the marking of the territory that crosses, gives
this offer a greater visibility.
Since this trail is based on the acknowledgement, promotion and valuing of the natural and cultural heritage that accompanies the Via, we will be simultaneously contributing for the reinforcement of the image local populations have about the land they live on (about their activities, their architecture, the flora and fauna) and also to encourage its use in a sustainable way and positively contributing for the local economy.
The tourism incidence of this project materializes in two aspects: as an specific product that attracts a public interested in the walking activity and also likes to get to know the authenticity of this region, where its unique natural and cultural heritage is still preserved; and/or as one more touristic project that the Algarve has to offer in a diversity frame and
as a complement of other existing areas.
